Triplet Update from Mother Germaine

Thank you all for your prayers.  The now month old triplets are doing well after a bout of fever in their second week.  They are deeply loved, whereas if Mother had not been there for them, they would have been killed.

Leo has blue pants on; Levi has blue top on; Lucy is in the orange.  Thank you for your donations which went to purchasing formula and other supplies for the infants (see photo below).  Let us know if you have further questions, and may God bless you and your family this Christmas!

One Week Left to donate for Chickens!

Even the smallest Donations will Help

We have ONE WEEK REMAINING to donate to purchase chickens as a Christmas gift for this needy orphanage!.

Eggs or meat even once a month is a rarity and special treat for the sisters and their ninety orphans in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Remember that they receive no grant, government or church funding, so your donation really makes a difference. Your donation is not one of thousands but one of only a few they will receive this month.  Please offer what you can.  You will see the benefit in the photos on this blog. We are a home spun support group.  No, your donation won’t benefit you as a tax write-off, but every penny will go to supplying chickens and other nutritious food for months to come.  Go to the donations page to see how to help.  God bless you, and thank you.

Do something Meaningful this Christmas!

Do something Meaningful this Season…

Buy a Chicken!

Instead of asking for a gift you’ll have forgotten a month later, or giving a gift that’s also soon forgotten, help feed orphans nutritious eggs for years to come!  Mother Germain and the Sisters of our Lady of Providence (aka SistersOftheCongo.org) currently have no chickens, and eggs are just too expensive for them to purchase.  100% of your donation will go directly to purchasing chickens and a coop to help with feeding their nearly 90 children.

What we take for granted, these children can only wish for.

You can help make this a reality.  We hope to raise enough money by December 4, 2020 to provide the coop, nesting boxes and chickens so the children can enjoy fresh eggs for Christmas. If we obtain more funds than are needed, the extra money will go to purchasing formula, vegetables, milk and other nutritious foods so that each child is well fed during the Holidays.

Make your check out to “Lee White” with “Christmas Chickens” in the memo.  We don’t yet have tax free status so this will help the children but cannot be used for tax purposes.  Send your donation to: Lee White; 1213 West Swallow Road, # 211, Ft. Collins, Colorado 80526.If you have questions go to Facebook – Sisters of the Congo or  SistersOftheCongo@gmail.com

Money can’t buy happiness… but it can buy Chickens!

Triplets!

These darlings just came to the orphanage today, November 9, 2020. Their mother died during childbirth. If anyone can help with formula for a month or monthly it would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to spiritually adopt them let me know. We will update photos as we get them. Happy Birthday Babies! Barbara@SistersOftheCongo.org or SistersOftheCongo@gmail.com

What to give and ask for for Christmas – A Chicken!

Are people asking you what you want for Christmas and you really don’t know what to tell them?  Are you stumped as to what to get for someone who has everything? Ask for a Chicken!  Mother Germaine and the Sisters of Providence (aka Sisters of the Congo) have NO CHICKENS.  With your donation for coops and chickens they’ll be able to feed healthy protein-rich eggs to their nearly 90 children throughout the year!  It’s just $4 a hen, or consider purchasing a nesting box ($30) or a coop ($225).  We can even put your name on the coop for you!

Either send a check made out to Lee with “Chickens” written in the memo (see instructions on the donate page), or contact me for more information.  SistersOftheCongo@gmail.org or Barbara Jenkins Glesener  Barbara@SistersOftheCongo.org.  We hope to have enough money to surprise them by December first so they can have the coops made and chickens purchased by Christmas.  Photos will be posted.

Little “Day” celebrates 5 years with the Sisters

Little “Day” celebrates 5 years with the Sisters.  When Day was first found by the sisters, she was very malnourished and needed medical care.  Now she has been with us for 5 years and has grown into a lovely young girl.  She is a blessing and although shy for this photo, is usually smiling and messy from play.
